JAIMEE ITAGAKI is a Los Angeles-based photographer shooting fashion, music, advertising and fine art photography. She has worked in Milan, Italy, New York, Seattle, San Francisco, and numerous other cities across the United States.
Having grown up "inner city," the Los Angeles native's images express the urban / ethnic spirituality--lost and found--from the daily stresses of modern urban life. Ongoing feelings of alienation and an awareness of a deeper meaning of existence are juxtaposed with the external, and ultimately, hope. Her subjects are portrayed with a romantic reverence for the importance and belief in the human spirit.
She has been shown in numerous community and fine art galleries in Los Angeles: Galeria Otra Vez, Doizaki Gallery, Pacific Design Center, Gallery lV, LA Artcore, Otis Gallery, Photography Center of LA, George Gray Gallery, and Barnsdall Gallery.
A brief list of clients include: The Mark Taper Forum, The Ahmanson Theatre, Preston Bissel, Epson, Samsung, RCA Records, Unique Publications, Miramar Publications, Peterson Publications, Yolk Magazine, Latin Style, Latin Style Teen, and Rime Magazine.
